Nancy Johnstone, MSW: Currently Interim Director of the Chicago Child Care Society (2005-present), Retired Executive Director of Youth Guidance (1972-2005), Chicago, Illinois. During her tenure the agency's budget grew from $100,000 to over $6,000,000. The organization serves youth through fifty school based programs. For the past thirteen

years,Nancy has served as a lecturer at the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration and as a member of SSA's Field Advisory Committee. As a longtime volunteer for United Way, she has served on many key committees. Nancy launched and for ten years

led Women In Charge, which focused on promoting skills and opportunities for women in management positions of non-profit organizations. She currently serves on the Heartland Alliance's Poverty Summit and is a member of the Youth Advisory Committee of the

Community Memorial Foundation. She is a member of the Chicago Network, an organization of women who have distinguished themselves through accomplishments in their respective professions. She  received the Public Service Citation from the University of Chicago Alumni

Association for creative citizenship and exemplary leadership in volunteer activities. Nancy holds a Masters Degree in Social Work, having attended SSA for one year and completing her degree at Carleton University in Canada.


Nancy specializes in assisting organizations in developing and implementing innovative and effective programs through: Program design, staff development, supervisory processes, organizational alignment and assessing and developing capacity.
